• Melamine (imitation-jade) stones — a durable, budget-friendly resin stone. Uniform color, consistent weight, and a smooth matte finish. Good choice if you want a reliable everyday set for club play, teaching, or travel.
• S-grade Natural Agate stones — genuine agate, hand-graded and sorted for clarity. Agate has a naturally cool, dense feel that resin simply can't replicate — pick one up and you'll notice the difference in weight and surface texture immediately. Each S-grade set ships with a gemstone identification certificate confirming natural agate material, so you know exactly what you're getting.

A quick note on agate grading, since this matters if you've shopped for agate stones before: agate is typically sorted into grades based on clarity and color consistency. Lower-grade ("B-grade") agate often shows a slightly cooler, bluish cast in the white stones, along with visible static lines or small crystal inclusions — it still has the same hand-feel as higher grades, just less refined in appearance, which is why it's usually sold at a lower price point. We only carry S-grade agate, meaning stones are hand-selected for clean, closer-to-true-white coloring with minimal visible flaws. You're paying for consistency and appearance, not just "real stone."

Is the agate real, or is it dyed/synthetic?
The S-grade sets use genuine natural agate, not dyed glass or resin. Each S-grade order includes a gemstone identification certificate as proof of material. If you want a resin/melamine alternative instead, our non-agate variants are clearly labeled and priced accordingly — we don't sell melamine stones as "jade" or "agate."

What's the actual difference between S-grade and lower-grade agate?
Lower-grade agate tends to have a cooler, slightly bluish tint in the white stones and may show visible static lines or small crystal inclusions. The hand-feel (weight, smoothness) is comparable, but the visual consistency is lower.
